Bus Information

BUS SAFETY
It is extremely important that parents impress upon the children the necessity of good behavior at the bus stop. These are generally unsupervised areas where horseplay or failure to remain attentive could result in a tragedy. Students should always stay off the road while waiting for the bus and keep clear of the bus until it and all traffic has stopped moving and the red warning lights are flashing. When crossing the street, the students should always cross in front of the bus and keep clear as this is where the bus driver and oncoming motorists will be able to see them. If your child is taking a ball to school, place it in a paper bag so that it will not roll into the street or under the bus. Glass or other such hazardous materials should never be carried onto the bus.

Students should be at their bus stop at least five minutes before the scheduled pick up time. The bus driver has no responsibility to wait for tardy students.

Students should use only their designated bus stop. Exceptions to the use of any other bus stop or bus other than normally scheduled will be considered for emergencies only, due to the potential overcrowding of a bus. When a child is visiting a friend, rather than riding a different bus, the child should be transported in the parent's car. Parents may obtain permission for bus or stop changes through the transportation supervisor's office.
